Background

Wesley Chapel used to be called “Double Branch” because it has twin creeks. Eventually, it was named after the Methodist chapel that is located at the northwest corner of SR 54 and Boyette Road.

Schools

Five elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools serve the area; some were built recently to accommodate the growth of the area. Many more schools are on the way to meet the growing demand. There are also many local charter and private schools as viable options.

Pasco-Hernando State College’s newest campus, Porter Campus, is also locates at Wiregrass Ranch.

Shopping, Healthcare, and Recreation

The Shops at Wiregrass, Tampa Premium Outlets, and The Grove are well-known shopping spots in the area.

Wesley Chapel also has a new hospital, Florida Hospital at Wesley Chapel, which is expanding their facility to meet the demand.

Wesley Chapel District Park is located at the southwest corner of Boyette and Overpass road. This popular park offers acres and acres of recreational facilities which include basketball, soccer, football, baseball, lacrosse, and more.

Center Ice, a $20 million dollar, 150,000-square-foot ice rink and sports complex proudly resides in Wesley Chapel. In addition to serving as the home rink for the Tampa Bay Lightning, there is a multipurpose floor, so the facility can host indoor sporting events and community events.
